Are your muffins ready?

Call this a cop-out post if you will. Hopefully it’s better than nothing though.

Ever have trouble telling if your muffins, cupcakes, loaf, bread or cake is fully baked? Nothing worse than getting to the middle and finding a gummy doughy mess. A super simple way to tell if your baked goods are cooked through is to gently press down on the top with your oven-mitted hand. If it springs right back then it’s done. Allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes before attempting to remove. It will continue to bake during this time so be sure not to over bake.

Bread is a slightly different story. Dump it out of the pan and knock on the bottom. If it sounds hollow then it’s done. To keep a nice soft crust on the top, if that’s your thing, just rub a little butter or margarine onto the top before it cools.
